Stage 1

Study at ICM in Winnipeg with the University of Manitoba!

The International College of Manitoba (ICM) is your child’s pathway to a degree at the University of Manitoba.

ICM's programs and approach to teaching offers students the opportunity to be fully prepared for university studies and have a smooth transition to the University of Manitoba. ICM will help your child achieve their education goals through personalized support and the opportunity to study at one of Canada's premier universities.

ICM provides a wide range of pathway programs which are equivalent to the first year of a University of Manitoba degree. A Canadian degree will help your child achieve their career objectives and fulfil their personal aspirations. As an ICM student at the University of Manitoba, your child will:

  • Learn in small classes, with an average of 30 students, complemented by small group tutorials and workshops.
  • Participate in Integrated Learning Series during their first academic term to help them develop self-directed learning skills.
  • Experience high standards of teaching, with courses that are delivered by qualified university instructors and are quality assured by the University of Manitoba.
  • Have access to university facilities and services including libraries, computer laboratories, recreation facilities (including the gym), on-campus accommodations, student groups, health services and career services.
  • Be part of a diverse student population with more than 2,500 international students on campus.

Founded more than 135 years ago, the University of Manitoba is Western Canada’s first university. In this time the University has produced 98 Rhodes Scholars — the pinnacle of academic achievement — which is the most of any university in Western Canada. University of Manitoba alumni lead more Fortune 500 companies than any other Western Canadian university’s alumni. Partly due to the Asper School of Business dominating international business planning competitions with 46 first-place wins since 1995. The University is also internationally recognized for ground-breaking research in the areas of HIV/AIDS, global public health, functional foods and Arctic climate change. Over summer, 200 research jobs are available to UM students each year. The university community consists of over 26,000 students, 8,000 faculty and staff and 185,000 alumni. 9% of current students are international and represent nearly 100 different countries.
