Which course is right for me?

ACAP offers the full range of accredited Social Work qualifications from Bachelor of Social Work, Bachelor of Social Work Honours, Master of Social Work, and Master of Social Work Qualifying.

Master of Social Work (Qualifying)

  • For those that wish to transition to social work from a related field
  • Requires a Bachelor Degree in a cognate area (or minimum of one year full-time study of a Bachelor Degree in social sciences or a cognate area) and a written statement

ACAP's Master of Social Work (Qualifying) is a two-year postgraduate coursework degree that provides a postgraduate level qualification into the social work profession.

This course provides a comprehensive and advanced understanding of contemporary issues and the future directions in social work practice and the profession of social work. Students complete 2 work placements which provide them with practical experience and skills to prepare them for professional practice upon graduation.


Master of Social Work

  • For those seeking to enhance their social work career
  • Requires a Bachelor Degree in Social Work and at least 1 year of practice experience

ACAP's Master of Social Work seeks to advance students' professional social work practice by providing an in-depth understanding of both contemporary issues and future directions.

This postgraduate course, which can be completed in 2 terms full-time, is ideal for social work practitioners who wish to advance their career by increasing their knowledge and skills as well as practitioners re-entering the workforce and wanting to update their professional practice.
